Couldn't find any time to update for week 15, and I'm just squeezing in week 16 update...oops!

Have you told family and friends? Yes!

Miss anything? A mimosa-less Thanksgiving wasn't too bad, had some sparkling cider instead.

Movement: Starting to feel little movements, mostly in the evening when I'm on the couch relaxing.

Anything making you sick or queasy? Nope

Have you started to show? Getting bigger everyday :)

Gender: Baby Holt is a Boy!

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Best moment this week: Got to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family in Arizona.

Baby Buys: My first official baby purchase, I just ordered this car seat canopy yesterday. It's so cute, can't wait til it gets here.

Looking forward to: Getting started on the baby's room, and Christmas! One of my favorite times of year.

Nursery Inspiration

I've gotten most ALL of my nursery inspiration from Pintrest.  Putting together a room for a boy seems so much more difficult than it is for a girl.  Maybe it's because I am a girl and I just can't resist all of the super cute, adorable, girly things :) But Pintrest has given me some pretty good ideas.

I'm in love with the grey color on the walls! I think that paint color has already been decided.  I also love the white furniture and how it looks with the grey.

I really like the pops of orange in the room above. You can add pretty much any color with the grey and it looks good.

Again in this room above I really like the pops of color with the orange wall decals and the blue curtains.  I really like the mix of white and dark wood furniture.

The white in this one just gives it a really "clean" look.

I love this grey glider with the chevron stripe blanket.

I like the bold color of the changing table in this room with the funky print on the glider.

14 Weeks...

How far along? 14 Weeks 5 days

Total weight gain/loss:  I was completely surprised at my appointment a week ago to hear that I had only gained 1 lb! Up from 102 lbs to 103 lbs

Food cravings: Haven't really had any cravings, but I am looking forward to Thanksgiving!

Maternity clothes? Still fitting into my regular clothes

Stretch Marks? Nope

Sleep: I'm still sleeping really good, other than my 3 a.m. bladder wake up call.

Have you told family and friends? Yes!

Miss anything? Didn't think I would miss being able to drink this much. But it will be more than worth it!

Movement: Not yet, but I can't wait! Neither can Shane. He touches my belly and says "Feel anything yet?"

Anything making you sick or queasy? Nope

Have you started to show? My bump is starting to stick out a little more.

Gender: Baby Holt is a Boy!

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Best moment this week: Celebrated an early Thanksgiving with Shane's family on his mom's side. We always have a good time with them.

Baby Buys: not yet, I haven't seen anything that I just HAVE to have.

Looking forward to: Celebrating Thanksgiving with the rest of our families, making the trip to Arizona to see my family (although it'll be a solo trip, Shane has to work), we also have two birthday parties this weekend for two adorable little girls :)

Doctors...

I'll start off by explaining a little about my "condition."  Most of family and close friends are familiar with it but I'll fill in those of you who aren't.

I have what is called McCune Albright Syndrome.  An extremely rare condition that causes "weak" spots in the bones among other symptoms.  These weak spots are in the right side of my body in my shoulder, hip/femur, pelvis and tibia.  The pelvis area was obviously a concern even before getting pregnant because of the added weight of the baby and weight gain during pregnancy.

So with that said, at my first prenatal visit with my OB/Gyn at our medical group Riverside Medical Clinic, the doctor referred me to "High Risk" OB at UC Irvine. This was a relief to me, having the extra care would put our concerns more at ease.

Monday I had my first appointment at UCI.  The first part of our visit was with a Genetic Counselor who went over ALL of our family history, covering siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents etc.  The second part of the visit was the ultrasound part of the genetic testing (my favorite part).  As soon as the ultrasound tech put the ultrasound device over my belly she immediately said "I can already tell what it is, do you want to know?"  Of course we wanted to know!! It was obvious that it was a boy!! She pointed it out to us on the screen, and from then on Shane and I couldn't wipe the smiles off of our faces. Shane was so excited to hear boy, I was just happy to see him and know that everything was going well.

Pictures from the ultrasound at 13 weeks 4 days
We're so lucky to have found out the sex so early, he was in a very good position.

After the tech was done, she called in the doctor.  We met the high risk OB also known as a Perinatologist, Dr. Wing.  We were very pleased to meet her and to learn that she had previously worked with a patient with McCune Albright Syndrome!  Most doctors have never even heard of it.  We met two other that doctors, all who seemed very excited to be working with me.  Which made me very excited to be able to have such care.  Dr. Wing made the suggestion that we transfer total care from Riverside Medical Clinic there to UCI.  There was no question that I completely agreed with that suggestion.

The next day at my second prenatal visit with my doctor at Riverside Medical Clinic, I told her about the suggestion to transfer care to UCI and she had no problem doing so.  So from now on we will be traveling from San Jacinto to the city of Orange, about an hour and a half commute to my new OB!  In my opinion the care I'll receive is well worth the commute.
